The city is connected to Bargersville in the southwest and borders the Green River in the south, Greenville in the west and Fort Wayne in the east. Greenwood is located in the eastern part of Johnson County and in the southern half of Greenwood County. Itbebe in northern Johnson County borders Bargerville on both sides of the river, as well as the cities of Greenfield and Greenwood, Indiana, in the south and central Indiana.
The population of Greenwood, Indiana, the largest city in Johnson County, is not numbered, but includes the city of Itbebe, as well as the cities of Greenfield and Greenwood and the city of Bargerville.
