You can easily reach Indianapolis by connecting to Interstate 65 northbound and taking I-65 to Louisville, Kentucky. The US-31 will take you north to Greenwood and then north again via US 31 to Indianapolis or north on US 35 to go south and north towards Chicago.

This three-day festival attracts more than 40,000 people to Greenwood and the surrounding area. Surina Square Park features some of the city's most extensive amenities, including the Greenwood Amphitheater, which hosts events and concerts.

But in the 1960 "s, Greenwood's commercial life was dominated by a half-dozen factories, several of which were Japanese owned, most of them linked to the automotive industry. Greenwood has a number of historic buildings, including the Greenwood Museum of Art, which has been restored to its former glory.

The J.T. Polk Canning Company is one of Greenwood's most important trading companies and the oldest in the state. Founded in 1872 by James T. and Laura Polk in a kitchen of their Greenwood home, the company eventually grew into the largest canning and processing company in Greenwood with more than 1,000 employees and a market value of over $1 million.

Today, the Greenwood Community has more than 1,000 students and more than 2,500 employees. All three school districts have received numerous awards and recognition from the Indiana Department of Education.

The Historic Center gets a new lease, and Smock Polk is building a city building on the former site of the old Greenville County Courthouse.

The Central Elementary School was built in 1906, and Greenwood School became the city's junior / senior high school. Depending on which part of Greenwood you choose, your child will be assigned to one or both of the two public school districts.

Greenwood is bordered to the north by Grassy Creek and Tracy Ditch, which flow through the city and connect it with Greenwood. The city is connected to Bargersville in the southwest and borders the Green River in the south, Greenville in the west and Fort Wayne in the east. Greenwood is located in the eastern part of Johnson County and in the southern half of Greenwood County. Itbebe in northern Johnson County borders Bargerville on both sides of the river, as well as the cities of Greenfield and Greenwood, Indiana, in the south and central Indiana.

The population of Greenwood, Indiana, the largest city in Johnson County, is not numbered, but includes the city of Itbebe, as well as the cities of Greenfield and Greenwood and the city of Bargerville.
